Hello,

the correct mime type for .chm files is application/x-chm
(see /usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml) because chm is non
standard.

kde 3.5.9 has

mimetypes/application/chm.desktop

which should be renamed and changed:

--- chm.desktop	2007-10-08 11:52:01.000000000 +0200
+++ x-chm.desktop	2008-08-28 12:03:21.000000000 +0200

 Comment[zh_TW]=HTML 說明文件

 Icon=help
-MimeType=application/chm
+MimeType=application/x-chm
 Patterns=*.chm;*.CHM
 Type=MimeType

This would be the correct mimetype and .chm files would be opened with
the correct application(s).

Thank you.

Regards

I'm closing this bug since kdelibs 4 doesn't install the chm mimetype anymore,
now okular-extra-backend does, and it installs it as "x-chm", not "chm".
