I'm assuming that most are affected and upgrading to serious.

This was reported upstream as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279665

I was able to workaround this by creating a new calendar.
In the Calendars pane bottom left, click the plus sign. Select calendar in a local directory.
Set the location to ~/.kde/share/apps/korganizer

Then, to recover your data, use File -> Import -> Import calendar...
Choose your old lost calendar's data file (in .kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics ).
Choose Merge into existing calendar

Note that I was recovering data from a previous install after reinstalling Debian. If trying to fix this without reinstalling, you may need to move std.ics out of the way or something.
