Bug#683477: No sound in Amarok after upgrade to 0.6.0-1

Amarok also uses xine as backend.

No, PulseAudio itself is not installed, although libpulse0 is present in
my system. However, in amarok only vlc is available as backend. With
phonon-backend-vlc 0.6.0-1 the sound test of the audio playback is
working but MP3s just keep silent. Downgrading to 0.5.0-1 fixes this
reproducible for me. Something I don't understand is that on two other
systems I don't encounter this behaviour with 0.6.0-1. All three
computers share a common setup (Debian sid, fluxbox, amarok, vlc as
backend).

If I can provide any further kind of helpful information please let me
know.

Best regards,
Marcus
