This bug seems not fixed in 0.5.0+14.g382da0d-2.
I have the same buggy behaviour with this version

ii phonon-backend-vlc 0.5.0+14.g382da0d-2Phonon VLC backendii pulseaudio 2.0-3PulseAudio sound server
