Bug#596007: kstars datafiles are downloaded several times and installed in each user's home directory
Package: kstars-data
Version: 4:4.4.5-1
Severity: normal
Installing kstars data like Tycho-2 catalog copies it into user's home directory, thus wasting space if there are several users. It would be better that installation were carried directly in a system directory like the /usr/share hierarchy and then catalogs being just enabled/disabled from user interface.
There is no point at all in having these files replicated in all users' home directories, and in making all users independently download them.
Maybe create kstars-data-extra-something packages and having them installed in a central place can be the solution.
