I have configured kmail to show the unread messages count in the system tray
icon when new messages are pending. I am observing "false positives"
and plain wrong counts.

E.g., right now I am looking at INBOX (the selected IMAP folder),
and it has 17 msgs in it. Kmail says there are 15 new msgs (in the
systray icon) in my IMAP "!bulk" folder, whereupon there are only 3 there
and all are read.

Exiting kmail and logging it again doesn't help.

The remote server is uw-imapd:

* localhost IMAP4rev1 2001.315 at Sat, 12 Jun 2004 12:44:43 +0300 (IDT)

On the server I have several special things to keep in mind:
1) the uw-imapd doesn't allow parallel logins to the same box
2) mbox has special meaning wrt the imapd/pine (it's contents
is shown in the INBOX after new mail is moved in from
/var/spool/mail/$USER by the imapd)
