Package: akregator Version: 4:4.3.4-2 Severity: normal When presenting feed items, I expect the presentation to be somewhat sanitized. I expect no scripts to run, for example. I've always had the impression that with akregator this is the case (again: I am limiting the scope to feed items, not web pages). Recently I've found a disturbing phenomenon: large CPU consumption by nspluginviewer invoked by akregator. Today I've investigated a bit further, and I can link it to one specific feed (perhaps others too, but this one does it reliably and that should be enough). The feed is at http://www.sisterclaire.com/?feed=rss2 and the current feed document is attached. The problem item is the currently newest item on this feed, so first in the attached doc. It includes embedded Flash, which I suppose is what triggers the bad behavior. Whenever I open the item in Akregator, I start seeing a nspluginviewer process taking ~20% CPU. This process is not gone when I switch to another item (on another feed, where the item is plain text). The 20% CPU is bothersome, but I'm more concerned with the issue of the plugin viewer being started at all.
