Debian should have multimedia and other hot keys working by default in a KDE 
installation, I think Debian is the unique modern GNU/Linux Distribution in 
which these keys are not working.

These keys do work since KDE 4.2 or 4.3 Just a proper keyboard model, e.g. the 
most common and universal being "Microsoft Internet Pro".
