Bug#525794: Some interesting observations on maximizing behaviour

Hello Modestas,

> Please confirm this bug with KDE 4.3.

I found a kind of workaround by fiddling around with the check-boxes under
"Multiple Monitor Support" in the System Settings if I remember correctly. I
am not quite sure anymore which one did the trick, maybe "Enable multiple
monitor window maximize support" and/or "Enable multiple monitor window
fullscreen support".

But there is one issue left: If I enter the "Display Settings" area of the
System Settings the two screens immediately become overlapped instead of
separated and the "Size & Orientation" page only shows one display rectangle
with 1920x1200 instead of two (1920x1200 and 1600x1200).

While the table on the "Multiple Monitor Page" still shows the following
desired layout:

Display 1 0 0 1920 1200
Display 2 1920 0 1600 1200

actually the following is in effect:

Display 1 0 0 1920 1200
Display 2 320 0 1600 1200

Then I have to use nvidia-settings to correct the situation again. But since I
don't have to go to "Display Settings" too often this is not a big problem for
me. Although there definitely is still something wrong.

I am using KDE 4.3.2 with Qt 4.5.3 and NVIDIA driver 190.42 from Debian
unstable at the moment.

With best regards
Stefan
