Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-2+b1
Severity: important

Same crash happens at least at the Proxies menu, too (which is the case
I'm describing below).

A KDE Control Module dialog says:

"
The module Proxies is not a valid configuration module.

The diagnostics is:
The desktop file Settings/Browsing/Web/proxy.desktop does not specify a library.
"

I assume that the crash happens directly after launching this
KDE Control Module dialog, most likely due to bad handling of this error case
(dunno what actually causes the error dialog above, but at least it certainly
shouldn't crash after displaying this error dialog).

KCrash: Application 'konqueror' crashing...

I can provide contents of both /usr/share/applications/kde/proxy.desktop
and /usr/share/applnk/Settings/Browsing/Web/proxy.desktop on request
(nothing too uncommon in there, it seems).

This fully reproducible crash happens with an entirely new system account even,
and with freshly started konqueror instances, with (at least) both German and
English KDE locale setup.
Gave it severity important since it's not funny if you have 30 tabs open
and you simply want to adjust settings and... BOOM, that's it.

It's certainly plausible that _something_ may be misconfigured somewhere,
all I'd ask for is that it tries to prevent such an aggressive crash
in such an error case, of course.

Athlon K7, Debian testing.

NOTE: system is "tainted" with an additional Chinese environment setup
(e.g. KDE sometimes was configured for Chinese language etc.),
that might explain me hitting this rather offensive crash,
just make sure to take this into account during analysis.
Oh, and this particular Debian is 12 years old on the 8th (or was it 9th?)
harddisk generation, so that kind of age might play a role, too ;)

Thanks a lot for an otherwise very enjoyable KDE environment,

Andreas Mohr
