After disk partion became 100% full, kmail crash because of no more
space avaible.

On restart some configuration files were corrupted. Filters have been
removed and also the configuration for receiving mails (all IMAP)

If your partition gets full, losing data is something to be expected.
This is hardly kmail's fault. If you think kmail should handle this, you 
can ask upstream in http://bugs.kde.org to implement a check of free space 
available before downloading emails (I would not be surprised if exists
actually, check before file).

But in any case, I think it is better you monitor usually how much free 
space you have to avoid losing data from any app you are running.
