KDE42 doesn't seem to have a desktop shortcut anymore, perhaps it is
unintended? It is very nasty if one has to minimize all windows until one
has access to the desktop and its widgets.

First, you are using packages that are not in the Debian archive, so basically
the bug is invalid.
Second, If you would have read the instructions before using the repos at
http://kde4.debian.net you would understand why this bug have annoyed to your
packagers.
