No pressing it twice doesn't work.  What happens is that it 'jumps' a bit but 
returns to it's normal position.  This also happens with the emacs-snapshot 
too as you mention below.    

I've paste a screenshot at the following url (I don't know if i can create 
attachments).

You can see that it's aligned to the upper left corner of my screen but it 
won't fully maximize vertically or horizontally.
