In debian, as you should know by the level of your NM application, severities 
actually means something - and isn't just a abitrary string you can choose 
among randomly.

To quote the description of "serious":

|serious
|is a severe violation of Debian policy (roughly, it violates a must or 
|required directive), or, in the package maintainer's opinion, makes the 
|package unsuitable for release.  

There is no policy violations here - and you aren't the package maintainer.
