Once we more or less agree, I think there are 2 things we could do. If you feel like this patch isn't needed then you could close the bug sending an e-mail to 442923-done@bugs.debian.org If you agree that you like this patch but you understand that Debian shouldn't provide it for the reasons mentioned before, then I will tag it as won't fix.
