Bug#434902: Not likely a kdebase bug.



  Hello:

  How are you getting that log? That's not a full valid acpid log, I guess 
there's some kde console output interference for whatever reason.

  Even with this I think acpid is doing what's supposed to: 
[Wed Jul 11 17:16:22 2007] completed event "button/power PWRF 00000080
00000001"

  If you expect your system to shutdown once the power button is pressed you 
should look that klaptopdaemon or something similar (kpowersaved or 
power-guidance) is not trapping the event (looks like not) and also that 
acpid is correctly configured, basically look for "button/power" in 
the /etc/acpi/events/ dir and checkout the script is points.

  You could also do a simple test to discard kde, just push powerbutton, 
before you log on kde.

  Would you be so kind to feedback after having checked out these steps?
