The Kdesktop and Kicker packages has a very annoing bugs listed here:

Finally this bugs were fixed for the KDE 3.5. Since Debian don't provide
updates in a form of a newer version for the stable distribution I think it
would be nice if the patch which fix this bug for KDE 3.5 will be applied
against the Debian's stable version of Kdesktop and Kicker package. The

I'm using Debian Sarge 3.1 kernel 2.6.8-2-686.
