Bug#416608: More Info
Just to be helpful, I've found out this is because
of:/proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
saying "present: no" if you do a 'cat state' command.
Also at this point if you run the command 'acpi' it doesn't return any text.
I think this could actually be a kernel issue? After a time my laptop
realises that it is running on batteries and proc is populated with
records accordingly. The only thing that is a little strange (apart
from the bug) is that the power source icon changes from the plug to the
battery immediately. Maybe this is because a value from somewhere else
is being written? (Not that it matters though, it's the ideal behaviour.)
I'm running a hand built 2.6.18 kernel that's built according the the
linux-source package in lenny's repository.
Maybe this bug should be reassigned?
