Package: quanta
Version: 1:3.3.2-6
Severity: normal

There appear to be two problems relating to new projects. First, the
mental model of them is not clear. Second, I seem to get hung up at
the point of file retrieval. Both problems may arise from my poor
understanding, but minimally I think the documentation needs to be
clearer.

I wanted to edit a web site that somebody else had put up. It's on a
remote server, accessible by ftp with username and password.

First, the mental model problem. If you specify a remote site (e.g.,
use of ftp protocal in the server setttings on the first pane of the
new project wizard), do the directory settings (middle of that same
pane) refer to the remote site or the local site? If you click on the
... selector button you can add local directories, but they seem to be
interpreted relative to the remote site.

In general, the files might be in a subdirectory of the remote site
and a local subdirectory. How would one specify that?

Given this uncertainty, the meaning of adding files in the project
sources is unclear. Are files to be transferred?

The second problem is that whether I used "add local or remote files"
with a remote site, or "use wget" with a local site at the top of pane
1, the operation in the next window of the wizard would always hang
when I asked it to add the files. Sometimes this was after a period
of internet activity. In no cases were any new files visible in my
hoped for project directory locally.

In the case of wget, it was not clear how to specify an account and
password, though I tried adding these as appropriate options to wget.

Here are some .xsession-errors that might be relevant
