If openoffice doesn't support it, it is a openoffice issue and not a > kmail issue. All attachments, before they are opened, are copied to the temporary folder and have a very random name. I noticed proper behavior with KDE applications. When a modification is done, the applications allow me to save it. Of course it'll have to be saved with a new name. But for openoffice, I noticed that the file is opened in read-only mode (I noticed that on the title bar). Now, I can agree with you that it might be an openoffice bug for not allowing modifications to files opened in read-only mode. Ideally, any attachment opened from within kmail using openoffice should allow modifications to be done and saved (using a different filename). If you feel it is an openoffice related issue, please reassign it. Thanks, Ritesh -- Ritesh Raj Sarraf RESEARCHUT - http://www.researchut.com "Necessity is the mother of invention."
