Package: kicker Version: 4:3.4.3-2 Severity: normal Hi, this came up today after I yesterday added kasbar to the kicker. Now what happens is that with some apps kasbar causes a significant cpu peak that "locks" the system for a moment (i.e. mouse doesn't move and then jumps, the same if I'm typing something when this happens). First I thought it's just the xfce4-terminal, but this happens with gaim, xine and gxine as well as kdevelop (to have a kde-app as example). I didn't try more non-kde apps but it doesn't happen for konqueror or konsole. This also only happens when any of the mentioned apps has focus and if it's large enough, i.e. the height of the peak is directly related to the size of the window (a 1 line xfce4-terminal doesn't show a real peak as the system is not 100% idle...) Currently kasbar is "invisible", I "closed" it via the arrow-button on the bottom and I have no idea how to make it visible again. I just mention this as this means I could not test wether this happens only when kasbar is "active" and not visible or also if it's visible. Andreas PS: Of course disabling kasbar makes the peaks go away -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'experimental'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.14-cherry+radeon+ipw2100+ieee80211 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages kicker depends on: ii kdebase-data 4:3.4.3-2 shared data files for the KDE base ii kdelibs4c2 4:3.4.3-1 core libraries for all KDE applica ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libaudio2 1.7-3 The Network Audio System (NAS).
