Hi,

I tried to reproduce my bug.
The behaviour is still the same without the crash. It does not
recognise Palm connected via IR in the config assistant.

Remember: I use KPilot with irda-utils via /dev/ircomm1 without any
problem for a long time. Because there are no facts against in the
documentation, I tried it without irda-utils directly via /dev/ttyS1 
(IR port on my notebook) and failed this way.

If I configure /dev/ttyS1 by hand and start sync on PDA,
the status bar in KPilot shows 10 % and not more happens.
I can click on the right icons to switch the category, but if
I want to enter the settings dialog, KPilot hangs. The dialog
windows will not be refreshed, if I move it.


If irda-utils is needed to get IR connection work, you should state
that explicitly, provide a configuration example in the documentation
and the config wizzard should detect the Palm than.

Don't hesitate to ask for further information.
