Package: konqueror Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-5 Severity: serious On amd64, Konqueror frequently fails to launch or occasionally freezes up completely while it's already running. In either case, it's becase konqueror is blocking forever trying to read file descriptor 8. Killing kded and gam_server and restarting any KDE apps lets konqueror load again. I have never seen this bug occur on x86. It went away when I moved the .kde directory out of the way, so I'm closing the bug. I'm hoping that by removing a couple of problematic-looking files from the version that I keep in Subversion and by checking out a fresh copy, I have eliminated whatever cruft was breaking konqueror/kded/gam_server without having to reconfigure everything from scratch. But ultimately, that's my problem not yours. --Ken -- Ken Bloom. PhD candidate. Linguistic Cognition Laboratory. Department of Computer Science.
