Package: kmix
Version: 4:3.2.2-1.sarge1
Severity: normal

Where the woody version of kmix only had a balance slider, there now is
a line

[ ] Advanced -----balance-slider----- Ensoniq AudioPCI

which is at least twice as wide as the whole kmix window in woody. This
makes this utility take way too much screen space, rendering it rather
unusable for me. And this in spite of the new Output/Input tabs, which
seem to be designed to make the window narrower (which is unneeded for
my simple sound card with 5 inputs and 2 outputs and makes it harder
to use for me, by the way).

Even if I switch off all the options, the Advanced checkbox would show
me, this box and its text _still_ appear. Why?

And should I want to see the name of my single sound card? This may be
important for people with more hardware, but the majority of the users
will be annoyed or even confused by this message.
