I suppose this might be a wishlist item, but it seems like such a
fundamental omission that I can only imagine it's a bug.

I can't select text, in order to paste it into another application. Not
even as plain text.

Yes, you always can open the .gs file with kpdf that allos select and
copy text. 

Since the developing of kghostview has been abandoned (it will be
replaced by okular in kde4), this feature will never be added, 
so i'm closing the bug.
