After yesterday's and today's update (i.e. I did not observe the problem
before), kcmshell (called from kcontrol), after I enter root password,
says "Wrong password" and gives me another try. The password is OK. I
tried it about 10 times, always with the same result,
but switching to root via su is without problems.

I also noticed this problem yesterday on another computer - the same
distribution, different kernel (although 2.6.17 as well), different
packages installed. It happened when I wanted to run k3bsetup from k3b
(but running k3bsetup via su was perfectly possible).

This is closed recently - some of the bugs was missed in the changelog - it 
was reported multiple times

Man, how can I unmount the fan on a tool?

You must unlink the DirectX editor and from the file inside Flash you either 
cannot telnet from the Web site of a AT window on a 24X directory over the 
button, or need to get access over the computer to reset the connector.
