Bug#385849: Need policy compliant way to enable custom kdm theme for debian edu

Package: kdm
Version: 3.5.4-2
Severity: important

I need a mechanism to enable the Debian Edu KDM theme when the
debian-edu-artwork package is installed. As far as I can see, kdm
only reads configuration from /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc, so there is no way
to provide an override file with the Debian Edu configuration. So I
am only left with the policy breaking method of editing the conffile
/etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc:

	kdmrc=/etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc
	/usr/bin/update-ini-file $kdmrc 'X-*-Greeter' UseTheme true
	/usr/bin/update-ini-file $kdmrc 'X-*-Greeter' Theme /usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/debian-edu

Can you please provide some mechanism for my postinst script to use to
enable our custom KDM theme, or advice me on how to enable it at
install time in a policy compliant way?

Debian Edu is a Custom Debian Distribution providing a preconfigured
out of the box networked installation for schools. We are regularly
asked to provide customized artwork, and as we try to solve it we ran
into this problem.
