well, one could argue you just demonstrated it's useless ;)
but btw it's merely a wishlist item.

for the record, current description is:

Description: mouse odometer for KDE
 KOdometer measures your desktop mileage. It tracks the movement of your mouse
 pointer across your desktop and renders it in inches/feet/miles! It can
 do cm/metres/km too. Its most exciting feature is the tripometer, and its
 utter uselessness.

 This package is part of KDE, and a component of the KDE toys module.
