  this is upstream bug 118926, and upstream claim it's fixed for KDE
3.5. Note that over a certain size, mbox are inneficient, because they
need to be parsed from line 1, whereas maildirs is only a matter of
directory listing (for the 'new mail' problem). so if your mailboxes are
*really* large, you may want to switch to maildirs anyway.
