That would be nice. here is one of ~200Ko, that still works immediately for me. if this is due to *your* bookmark.xml file, then you will to dichotomicaly find what causes the slowness. if a new account with that bookmarks.xml causes no slowness, then I'd recommend you to try removing (move temporarily in ~ works fine) files from ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/ or to tweak your ~/.kde/config/konquerorrc. have you e.g. customized your konqueror menus ? or changed anything from the base conf ? I'm less and less convinced that bookmark.xml is the reason here. I'd say that the size of your bookmark.xml *emphasize* another problem of your configuration. You have to find out which one so that we can report anything useful upstream.
