Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm running Debian sarge (testing), which I am constantly upgrading. I
recently noticed (I don't reboot my machine very often and only discover
breakage when I reboot) that the red threading in slrn was now replaced by
red blocks. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it seems possible the
problem was with Konsole and/or X 4.3, since X 4.3 had just arrived in
testing. Or maybe that was just a coincidence.

The problem seems to be visible in most Konsole fonts, and is certainly
present in my usual font, which is the "unicode" option in Konsole.

I've recently been installing some testing systems using the new beta Sarge
installer, and I have been able to reproduce this problem on every one of
these systems.

There is no problem in xterm with the default font.

I could send a screenshot of slrn with this problem to the BTS if desired.

It seems possible that the problem is with Konsole, but I am not sure, and I
thought it was reasonable to send it to slrn's maintainer to see whether he
could reproduce the problem in the first place.

Thanks in advance.
