Bug#366171: kscd: Won't release CD drive
Package: kscd
Version: 4:3.5.1-1
Severity: important
This is a recurring and infuriating problem -- or actually, family of problems.
I'm not sure if they're related, so I'm filing bugs for each one.
Here's a reproduction recipe.
(1) Insert an audio CD. Open it in kscd. Stop it.
(2) Attempt to mount it (mount /dev/hdc) This fails.
(3) Attempt to eject it. Either with kscd, or with the button
on the tray, or with the 'eject' command. Failure.
lsof will identify the program holding the device open, which is kscd.
Killing kscd, or quitting it, will release the CD drive.
