kdm doesn't use /etc/kde3/kdm/Xservers as of 3.4.x. The kdm upgrade scripts 
will not remove Xservers if it detects local changes, however, to give 
admins a chance to merge their customizations into kdmrc (have a look at 
ServerArgsLocal - you'll probably need an updated kdmrc to see this and 
have it work).

If this doesn't fix things, let us know. Unfortunately, kdm upgrades suck 
exceedingly, with plenty of random changes to go around. It would really be 
best for users to purge/reinstall kdm 3.4.2, then re-customize from there.
