KDE versus Debian menu files
Is there some sort of effort underway to reduce the effort in manually
replicating the KDE (or freedesktop) menu files to the Debian menu files
format for each package? I guess that with some of the announced features
for the latter (e.g., translations), this could become quite cumbersome.
I was hacking together a few scripts that could do this somewhat
automatically, using a CDBS-type makefile. However, it seems that this
should be addressed on a more fundamental level, somewhere in the menu
system. Does anyone know what the plans are here, if any?
