After I upgraded to version 3.4.2-2 kmail always hung periodically for a certain amount
of time. Now I have found out that the cause for these hungs are the search folders.
When I call: strace -f -e file kmail --nofork
I always get several delayed
lstat64("/home/martin/.kde/share/apps/kmail/search/Letzte Suche.lock.lock", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0600, st_size=65, ...}) = 0
messages in a sequence, when kmail hangs.
After I deleted the search folders the hangs have gone away.
