This is indeed a dupe of http://bugs.debian.org/281628 which is upstream http://bugs.kde.org/73999 The bug owner thought he fixed the bug, but later announced it wasn't fixed before KMail 1.8, which only shipped in KDE 3.4.0. This bug is no reason to keep 3.3.2 from Sarge, but it won't fix with it neither. It looks like the maintainers will have to backport a patch if they want it closed.
