    To the best of my knowledge, it is still true (at least, I haven't
been told otherwise, but I've made it a point ever since I discovered
this to make sure I updated everything kde-related in a single pass).
I have a couple machines left in the department that haven't been
upgraded yet, so I'll try to do a partial upgrade on a couple and see
if I can nail down the exact break to confirm this.

    That can't happen until tomorrow at the earliest, and possibly the
day after.
