  uhm, sorry for nagging you too much. but README.linux.console
  documments the exact commands that you need to execute, and if you do 
  "dpkg-reconfigure -plow fontconfig" then no hand-editing of obscure
  xml config files is needed.

And don't get me wrong - I don't mind getting proven wrong. I change my
