the most useful thing you can do in order to get this fixed, since it
seems you're very interested in it, is to send a detailed bug report
to bugs.kde.org explaining the problem and why kfloppy is at fault.
also, you could point the upstream kfloppy author to Mandrake's
Security Advisory MDKA-2004:047 [1], which seems to include a patch
fixing the problem. it would be certainly best if you test the patch
and report whether it does work or not.

if using kfloppy is really important for you, you can (in the
meantime) use a init script to create the appropriate device files at
boot time.
