And since G3/G4 is written explicitly, an explanation would be
helpful. I think those refer to different standards? Since the exact
same phrase is already the brief description, I would rewrite it
as:

Fax Viewer for KDE, supporting the G3 and G4 FAX-Standard.

Also I would use this as the first sentence, as this describes the
main functionality, which is more important IMHO than the environment
it was design for, so start with this sentence and then use:

KDE is a powerful ..
