Package: kcontrol
Version: 4:3.3.0-1
Severity: normal
If you use Desktop size bigger than current Xsession resolution kcontrol
crashes afters selecting resolution panel: kcontrol->Peripherals->Display
It's easy to reproduce this bug.
If you have in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 modes like this:
Modes "1152x864" "1280x1024"
then you will get Xserver running at 1152x864 resolution, but the desktop size
will be bigger. Then you select this option from kcontol and it crashes. THis
Virtual desktop can be disabled just by adding Virtual 1152 864
below Modes entry. Then desktop will be the same size as current resolution,
and kcontrol doesn't crash.
I've attached output from this kcrash, but it doesn't look like something
useful. Probably even more interesting is console output:
"X Error: BadImplementation (server does not implement operation) 17
Major opcode: 158
Minor opcode: 5
Resource id: 0x8e
ASSERT: "d->config" in ../../../kcontrol/randr/randr.cpp (75)
KCrash: Application 'kcontrol' crashing... "
