thans for your help, kmail works again, this bug should be closed now:

no, that didn't help, in fact the problem was:

in fact my kdelibs were still 3.2.3-2, somehow i did the update at the
wrong time perhaps and kdelibs -4 was still not there or it was perhaps
the testing/unstable priority that kept my -2 instead of updating to -4
and i didn't notice....
