Sometimes, when pressing the UP arrow to have the previous command
displayed on the command line, besides displaying the command, it 'eats'
the previous line.
So for example:
nico@laptop:~$ su
Password:
root@laptop:/home/nico# df -h
Filesystem Dimens. Usati Disp. Uso% Montato su
/dev/hda1 9,2G 7,7G 1,1G 89% /
/dev/hda5 8,8G 5,9G 2,5G 71% /mnt/hda5
tmpfs 94M 0 94M 0% /dev/shm
root@laptop:/home/nico#
Then I press UP:
nico@laptop:~$ su
Password:
root@laptop:/home/nico# df -h
Filesystem Dimens. Usati Disp. Uso% Montato su
/dev/hda1 9,2G 7,7G 1,1G 89% /
/dev/hda5 8,8G 5,9G 2,5G 71% /mnt/hda5
root@laptop:/home/nico# df -h
And the previous line is gone!

Every program has at least one bug and can be shortened by at least one
instruction -- from which, by induction, one can deduce that every
program can be reduced to one instruction which doesn't work.
