Bug#257139: kdesktop: KDE skips window after window set to "Keep Below Others" when walking through them

Hi!

I have checked on one other (newly installed) computer, and it has the same problem. On second thoughts, this is probably more related to the package kwin. You are using the same versions, right?

There is not much more details I can give, because it doens't really depend on the number of windows etc. For instance, the bug already occurs with two windows, which is quite annoying: I have one window maximised, that has the focus, and one other window that is set to "Keep below others", on the background (of course), but not minimised. Then I press Alt-Tab. Now the window set to "Keep below others" has the focus, and my maximised window has not, although I can still only see the maximised window. Then I press Alt-Tab again, expecting that the maximised window to get focus again. But it doesn't, the window set to "Keep below others" retains focus. That means I have to reach for my mouse ...

I can also file this bug at bugs.kde.org, of course, as that's where it probably should go.

thanks,

Mathijs

When I set a window to "Keep Below Others" and then use Alt-Tab to walk
trough my windows on my desktop, it skips the window AFTER the one I set
to "Keep Below Others". My navigation mode in
Control-Center->Desktop->Window Behavior is set to "CDE".

can't reproduce here. can you provide *detailed* instructions (e.g.
number of windows and other relevant information).

and, the skipped window is not minimized by a chance, is it?

 thanks,

The problem I have with making an intelligent statement is that some
people then think that it's not an isolated occurrance.
