Bug#256658: kde: application size of 32768x32768 causes massive (320mb) xserver memory usage

Package: kde
Severity: normal

konqueror, apollon and a couple of other applications managed to get
themselves into quite serious difficulties: i do _not_ know how it
managed to happen but i can send the ~/.kde/* directory contents on
request (or portions thereof if someone can help me identify which
ones are needed).

this is with kde 3.2.2.

the symptoms are that konqueror's window size is 800 pixels wide by
32768 pixels deep, WAY outside of the size of the screen, and it
causes xserver-xfree86 to use up 256 mbytes of memory.

apollon's window size is 32768x32768 and that uses up a staggering
320mbytes of memory when you go to the "transfer" tab.

i really couldn't tell you how this happened / occurred:
it just started to happen.

caused me a bit of a scare because i am supposed to be shipping
within the next few weeks.
