Bug#243590: kdm is segfaulting on start

    Well, starting X with just "X" worked, and there was nothing odd
in either XFree86.0.log or kdm.log.

    I force-upgraded/downgraded one machine to the 2004.03.16
snapshot, and it appears to be working again.  I'll poke at the other.
