Bug#240632: Kmail crashes after I upgrade to KDE 3.2, downgrade didn't help

KMail crashes when I click on a random email folder, sometimes I can preview
a few messages but sometimes it just dies immediately.
I get this if I run it from commandline, unfortunately I have gdb but can't get the KDE
crash handler to show up.

This started after I upgraded to KDE 3.2 from 3.1.3, I did the upgrade in KDE and Kmail was
working, it only didn't want to send mail through SMTP. Then after I restarted KDE it
started crashing. I removed all kde* with apt-get remove --purge and kwin, kicker, ksmserver,
ksysguardd, *qt*, *arts*, removed ~/.kde and installed KDE 3.1.5 but it still crashes.
