I want to contribute to Debian

Hi,

I’ve been using Linux for a while now and am looking to contribute to the open-source community. I hope this is the appropriate way to reach out to the Debian team.

I would describe my knowledge as intermediate. I am proficient enough to install and maintain Arch Linux, and I’m comfortable with Bash and Vim, using i3 for my daily work.

After testing several distributions, I've found that Debian is where I feel most at home. Below are the four things that make Debian unique, in my opinion, and why I’m specifically reaching out to the Debian community instead of any other distribution:

1) It can be as minimal as you want. I appreciate the ability to install the base system, boot into tty1, and install everything else I need via apt. I love building my own system from the ground up.

2) It is fully community-driven and upholds an admirable philosophy.

3) It strives to be reliable and universal. Debian is designed to be a rock-solid operating system for both laptops and servers, representing a serious, community-driven effort.

4) It doesn't rely on another distribution; instead, many others rely on Debian. This speaks volumes about its quality.

I believe I could contribute to Debian by assisting with writing documentation, quality assurance, bugs and testing. I am also willing to learn how to maintain packages or acquire any other skills the community needs.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
