Hello Tassia, Roland, and Philip,
I'm Godson Nwaubani, and I'm writing to express my strong interest in the "Debian Images Testing with OpenQA" project for the Outreachy December 2025 cohort.
About me:
- DevOps engineer with experience in infrastructure management
- Good in Python and Git
- Experienced in functional testing and technical documentation
- Comfortable working with Linux systems and VMs
I'm particularly drawn to this project because automated testing of installation images aligns perfectly with my DevOps background. I'm eager to learn OpenQA and contribute to Debian's testing infrastructure.
I've already:
- Joined the #debian-qa IRC channel (username: Godson)
- Explored the openqa-tests-debian repository on Salsa
- Going through the project documentation
My plan to get started:
1. Set up a VM environment and boot Debian images
2. Follow the OpenQA installation guide at
openqa.debian.net/install.html3. Choose a desktop environment and document a test approach
4. Set up my git workspace for contributions
I'm committed to making meaningful contributions and would appreciate guidance on:
- Which desktop environment or installer feature to focus on first?
- Specific areas of testing that need immediate attention?
- Tips for newcomers setting up OpenQA?
Looking forward to working with the team!
Best regards,
Godson Nwaubani
