Hi Gábor,

we are already doing that to some extent:

trycmd ('git', 'clone', '--quiet', '--bare', '--mirror', '--depth', '50', '--no-single-branch', '--template', '', $url, $pkgdir);

depth=1 wouldn't work since we use "git describe".
